My other Glee comics -> [link]

This is going to be a combo episode comic/Journal entry. Short, comic this week due to time constraints but…. Omg can we talk about this episode!?!?! I have so many feelings!

* * * * * (SPOILERS) * * * * *
Starting from the beginning, I love how Santana’s comments to Figgins perfectly mirror all the fans comments about Finchel vs Britana/Klaine and their censored kisses.

I love how Mercedes actually felt horrible about the kiss. This is like the first time in Glee history where someone actually felt genuinely bad for cheating and responded to it in a way that didn’t make them look like a horrible person. And that Whitney Houston tribute was wonderful. It’s super eerie that they happened to pick that song this week. They didn’t add that song in later, right? Just scary coincidence?
I actually liked Rory in this episode. He usually delivers lines in a way that are so wooden it gives me splinters, but this episode magically transformed him from a wooden puppet into a real boy. But poor Artie. Girls keep leaning his way then rejecting him, and he’s amazing! I still say him and Sugar would be a cute couple. (There’s always next year, Artie. Maybe when clover boy goes back to Ireland you’ll get your shot.)

On to the "God Squad". Sigh. It’s nice to see Glee have the balls to talk about a controversial topic like traditional biblical teachings vs. modern application when it makes so many people uncomfortable. It was just really weird that Mercedes was the one to bring it up. She used to be best friends with Kurt! You’d think she’d be adamantly defending the idea that you can be Christian and support gays. How Christianity is not about condemning others or passing judgment, but loving your fellow man. Letting Joe decide whether or not they were going to discriminate against a group of people was kind of strange. You’d think the 3 glee members would’ve had more passionate things to say since they’re good friends with like 4 gays.

There wasn’t a whole lot of Kurt in the first 2/3, but every other scene, just as I was starting to miss him, he would pop up with an adorable line/facial expression. Which kept me satisfied until…KAROFSKY. I know a lot of people were upset with this, but I couldn’t have been more thrilled. I’m the biggest fan of one-sided Kurtofsky/kurtofsky friendship. Seriously. Just perfect. No matter what scene Dave is in it’s always so tense, thrilling, emotional, and edge of my seat. And just when things couldn’t get better …HEART EYEPATCH and tie grabbing!

The major thing that dragged the episode down was creepy, domestic Rachel/Finn interaction. Do the writers want us to think they’re both unstable? The big disappointment (other than the lack of Klaine smooch at the end) was that this Finchel wedding business didn't get put to rest, and is actually going to take up our entire finale episode with even more insanity. An episode that should be focusing on an amazing Warbler/ND showdown and Karofsky drama. I often wonder what the hardcore Finchel fans are thinking when I see that mess on my TV screen. The more I watch this plot unfolded the more sure I am that this is Glee’s response to ‘Breaking Dawn’. Hopefully the lesson from all this will be why getting married before your brain has finished developing is a bad idea.

Also it was kind of super predictable. SO obvious that Sugar was going to pick Rory. I figured it out last Friday when I heard what songs they were singing to her. Cheesy boy band vs slow and emotional? It’s not rocket science. We also knew new guy was going to end up singing to Brittney. And Blaine was NOT going to be in that gorilla suit. Dave is like the only person, out of the 3 possible gays on this show, whose build would’ve fit into that costume. And, yes, the whole idea of Dave sending Kurt over-the-top valentine gifts is ridiculous and contrived, but you just have to remember that Glee takes place in an alternate reality where the air causes people to act on whatever bizarre whim they happen to experience, and they run with it with a single minded determination that can only be described as terrifying. I know, I know I should be condemning the lack of sense and character assassination going on here, but I’m too Karofsky biased to be objective. I was just so happy to see him.

Fashion Spot: Anyone else notice the red sweater with the black zipper that Kurt wore in this episode was the same one he wore in Prom when he had the Dave crying/apology scene?

I’ve heard some scary things about next week episodes. That a lot of people will be upset, and that it’ll end on a cliff hanger… right before a 7 week hiatus! Really?

Kudos to anyone who actually read through all that. -_-
